Oh my, I can't wait until tomorrow, when this Hawk-hating blogger writes a sensational article on how the Hawks have re-tooled brilliantly in the off-season are are now the SECOND BEST team in the league according to Fancy-stat inc.

But, I am. I only have ONE degree. The other poster on here had 2 degrees AND a Masters!!!

Actually, I'd say that the fact the Hawks are getting such good goaltending and are still so low in the standings is a major indictment of their roster. Same with Dallas.

once again the brilliant, educated Tanner knows more than everybody. Funny but along with probably not actually watching games and making comments based just on a stat line, he obviously doesn't read what he writes. Anyone with life experience can tell you that stats alone just don't tell the story. But Tanner will throw out stats like PDO to try and show who is for real , then ignore the same stat when it shows that it doesn't prove anything. Calling everything his stats can't explain lucky. Ignoring his whole coaches don't mean anything argument. Don't see much success from the NEW wave.

Bruins lineup is lousy after the first line because they go for a balanced hard working, team first type of roster right Jim. Their players know and accept their roles. They have something that again can't be measured by some geek with a laptop . You watch them and see they play with desire .They hit and take hits, they stand up for each other. No corsi stat for that is there. Look at the top teams professor [ Caps,Blues, Bruins, Islanders ] they are the opposite of your superboy Dubas lineup. Again I will say it the only players you like wouldn't take a hit playing blackjack in Vegas. When the Leafs add some balance to a lineup that is talented they will then see some success. Just like stats alone is not the deciding factor in building a team, having the same type of player thru-out your lineup doesn't work.
Does trading a player like Lindholm who is a good penalty killer, a hardworking defensive center for a player like Petan a no hit ,all offense fancy type make sense ?
What type of player are the Leafs more in need of ? I'm sure Petans stats can make him look sooo talented. So really do away with the stat page b.s.. It just makes you look like what you probably are. Someone who should be talking about computer games and fantasy teams. Leave discussions about the game of hockey to people who actually base opinions on more than just stats. Watch the game and get a feel for the intangibles that really do make the difference.

It also seems like everyone commenting believes the current standings reflect exactly how good each and every team is. That seems ludicrous to hold that belief, regardless of your team.

To think all that matters is the outcome is pretty crazy in my opinion. Why is there a general disdain for wanting to dig into the numbers and attempt analysis? Why is no analysis better than analysis you disagree with?

Hey James long time reader 2nd time poster,

As someone with a vast knowledge regarding the Coyotes roster, I come to you asking your current opinion on whether or not Jacob Chychurn should be kept on my fantasy roster. It's a points league and I've noticed he's gotten 1st PP time.

I should also mention, Goligoski is available as free agent (so I have considered substitution for him).

What are your thoughts on the matter at hand?

Fact. I’ll also add that his weekly “Islander” blogs started after Tavares got booed at the coliseum. It seems it wasn’t only Tavares’s feelings hurt.
